Tax Credit Requests
The Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) no longer accepts paper applications (state form TP1) for QEE tax credits. All tax credit applications must be submitted electronically. The GRACE staff will apply for tax credit approval for those taxpayers who follow the contribution process. If you prefer to enter your tax credit information yourself, follow the directions below.
Instructions from the Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR)
The DOR does not take pre-registrations. The department’s online portal will begin accepting applications for 2020 tax credits on January 2, 2020. The information below is provided by the DOR Tax Credits and Incentives Unit. If you have any questions regarding the electronic submission of QEE credit applications, contact the Tax Credits & Incentives Unit at 1.877.423.6711. This information is susceptible to change without notice.
QEE pre-approval requests must be submitted through the self-service portal of the Georgia Tax Center (GTC), a website maintained by the DOR.
If you have never filed a tax return with the State of Georgia, you must call the Taxpayer Services Assistance Line at 1.877.423.6711. Select option 2 for individual income tax information. Listen to the recording. When asked to choose options, skip over the prompts by pressing “0” (zero) four times to be transferred to the next available representative. When speaking with the representative, request registration as a new taxpayer. You will be asked for your name, Social Security Number (SSN), and address. You have to speak with a representative to register as a new taxpayer. You cannot register online to be a new taxpayer.
Current filers with the State of Georgia are already registered but must secure online access to their GTC accounts. To secure online access, call the Taxpayer Services Call Center at 1.877.423.6711.

Help GRACE Scholars track your tax credit approval and payment status
When you have entered your information into the GTC portal, please advise GRACE by e-mail. In the e-mail, please provide the following information:
- The name(s) of taxpayer(s)
- The date of input to GTC
- The name(s) and city(ies) of your designations and the amount allocated to each
- The name of your contact person and preferred telephone number
- If affiliated with a Catholic church or mission, please give the name and city
The DOR will respond to you with an approval letter. Please keep the letter with your tax records. GRACE does not need a copy of the letter.
Your contribution must be made to GRACE within 60 days of the date of the approval letter or by the end of the calendar year in which it was pre-approved, whichever is earlier.
